More than just a single object, Kinoko is a series that brings together different interpretations of mushrooms, making the organic growth of nature tangible within interior spaces. Inspired by the question of how we perceive nature through our own eyes, these side tables merge traditional craftsmanship with digital fabrication methods. The “Sea Cucumber” glaze, a technique rooted in Japanese ceramic artistry, has been in use for thousands of years. The three color variations—light blue (sky and air), dark blue (water), and fiery red (fire) reference fundamental natural elements. Each shape within the series represents a different stage of growth, hinting at the long-term vision of expanding Kinoko into an immersive “forest.”
